Where: Cavendish Road SHS Assembly Hall (Cnr Holland and Cavendish Roads, Holland Park)
When: 17th-18th August 2013 (9am – 5.00pm each day)
The League of Extraordinary Gamers hosts two all weekend gaming events each year – Legends of Summer and Legends of Winter. Most of the tournaments featured at Legends of Summer are Queensland State championships that feed into the Sydney Toy and Game Expo National sanctioned gaming finals. The Legends of Winter tournaments are short, non-formal titles that give the winners framed certificates and prizes from sponsors.
Cost: Each game you enter costs $2 or you can enter into unlimited tournaments all weekend for a total fee of $5 (all inclusive). Note, the Magic tournaments require purchase of $5 booster packs to enter. A $2 fee is not required for these events.
The scheduled events are:
Saturday 17th August
10am-5pm Twilight Imperium (prize: trophy plus a set of Star Wars Collectible Postage Stamps)
Limited to 7 players
10am- 1pm Memoir 44 Mini-tournament (Prize: trophy plus an axis and allied model tank)
Limited to 10 players. Round 1 you play a designated scenario as Allied or Axis. Round 2 you play the same scenario but swap factions and you are paired against an equally ranked player from Round 2. Final round everyone plays a generic scenario with equal forces against an equally ranked player. Highest points score wins.
10am-1pm Magic: the Gathering Pack Wars (Prize: trophy plus Foil Cards)
(Format: Magic 2014 (M14) set $5 per pack, and you are supplied with three of each basic land. Mix these with your pack (without looking!) to create a deck of 30 cards and duel someone else. You may continue to play with the same pack, or else buy another pack and start again. Foil cards are available as prizes while they last. Please return the basic land when you are done.
10am- 1pm Settlers of Catan (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
You play 2 games and score points from both
2.00pm-3.30pm Viewpoint (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
Grand Melee format
2.00pm – 5.00pm Dominion (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
You play 2 games and total your scores
2.00pm – 5.00pm Seven Wonders (Prize: (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
You play 2 games and total your scores
Sunday 18th August
10.00am – 1.30pm Agricola (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
You play a single game only
10.00am-1.30pm Tzolkin (Prize: trophy plus restaurant voucher)
You play 1 game only
2.00pm-3.00pm King of Tokyo (Prize: trophy plus Sushi Voucher)
You play 2 games and combine scores. Tie breaks decided on % of total scores each game.
3.00pm -5.00pm Magic Grand Melee (Prize: trophy plus bonus pack entry pool)
Classic format – entry is by donation of a bonus pack.
3.00-5.00pm Ticket to Ride (Prize: trophy plus family pass to the Ipswich Rail Museum)
You play 2 basic games and add your scores.
