The League of Extraordinary Gamers (LXG) is an incorporated non-profit association which was established as a family-friendly tabletop games association in 2004, with its main aims being to provide a venue for its members to play games and to promote an interest in all genres of games to the wider community.
The founders of LXG have had a long-standing involvement in organising games clubs and games conventions for over 40 years and were responsible for the previous management of the Queensland Science Fiction & Fantasy Club, Queensland Role Players, Tanelorn Games Club and Warhounds.
The club was originally based at the Chandler Sports Complex and then Cavendish Road State High. Currently LXG is headquartered at the Queensland Contract Bridge Club at Woolloongabba, which offers a larger, air-conditioned venue. At LXG we embrace all genres of games including board games, miniatures, collectible card games and role-playing.
The club meets twice per month, all day, usually on a Sunday. One meeting is the designated general meeting of LXG (LXG PRIMARY) and the other is referred to as LXG SECONDARY which also embraces specialty areas of gaming such as role-playing and miniatures. At these meetings people play social games or compete in organised tournaments. It’s a great, friendly atmosphere and you will easily find someone who wants to invite you to play a game.
