CATERING
LXG has its own in-house caterer, the wonderful Francesca Chee. Francesca loves to cook and volunteered her time to prepare fresh and healthy meals on the LXG REGULAR meetings (only). Typical meals served by Francesca include chilli con carne, curries, lasagne and home-made biscuits and cakes. Most meals are around $5.

All profits that Francesca makes she gives back to the club which we mainly use to buy games for the library. So buy a meal from Francesca and you help to increase the library titles!

There are also many fast food outlets within easy walking distance of the Bridge Club building, including Subway, Pizza Hut and Asian takeaway.

Winter Retreat 2021 @ QCCC Tamborine (WEC Centre)
Jul 23 @ 1:00 pm – Jul 25 @ 2:00 pm

WHAT IS WINTER RETREAT?
In a nutshell, Winter Retreat is a 3 day gaming holiday held at a Queensland Recreation Facility. For the past 20 years, LXG (and LXG in previous incarnations) has run an annual getaway weekend (open to club members and non-club members) for the purpose of playing tabletop games. This is purely a fun, social weekend with no organised events or competitive tournaments.

Turnout is usually around 80-90 people. Everyone is welcome – the kids have a great time!

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS?
The camp is available to use from 1pm on Friday. Many people take the day off from work and arrive sometime that afternoon. Others travel up after work and get there around 8pm. There is the opportunity to car pool if you haven’t got transport. You stay at the facility until 2pm on the Sunday and then head on back home.

In between is a whole lot of gaming, especially those longer games you don’t often get time for (e.g. Twilight Imperium). There are also some popular ‘parlour’ games for large groups (e.g. Ultimate Werewolf). As well as gaming there is usually a pilgrimage to the local tourist traps to buy wine and local produce.

All meals are included in the price:

  • Friday dinner
  • Saturday breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
  • Sunday breakfast, morning tea and lunch
  • Bottomless tea, coffee, juice and pre-mixed cordial

If you have special dietary requirements they can be catered for, just let us know in advance.
