In 2016,  the John Murray Award for Best and Fairest was introduced in honour of long-time club member John Murray.

The award is given to a club member whom their fellow club members have deemed worthy of the award through their actions of fair and fun gaming throughout the year.

Nominations for the award open at the start of the November gaming meetup each year and close at 12 noon. Nominations are then tallied by the committee. The winner of the award will be announced at the December gaming meetup.
