There were exactly 12 players in the first round of the 2014 grand melee league. This means players were divided across two tables. The seeded nature of this round meant that the top players from 2013 were split across the two tables.

On table one, last year’s ladder winner Anthony H got off to a flying start, winning the table, getting some kills and the Soul Reaper achievement thanks to Vizkopa Guildmage. Once again Anthony tops the ladder. Keith D and Adrian R each picked up a kill on Table one. On table two, last year’s second place on the ladder Eddie C won the table with his Maze’s End combo deck, without getting any kills. David K picked up three kills and the Kingmaker achievement after Eddie won.

So after one round the ladder looks a little familiar with the same two names in first and second. Perhaps that will change as the year goes on…
