If you’re wondering which board games to play at Winter Legends, remember it’s entirely up to you! Maybe go Ra – Puerto Rico – Power Grid – Ticket to Ride, or just settle in to a game of Twilight Imperium.

If you’ve never been to the club before, the Winter Legends week-end is a great way to start.

BOARD GAME EVENTS AT LEGENDS OF WINTER

WHEN: 20th – 21st August 2011 (9am – 5pm each day)
WHERE: Cavendish State High School Assembly Hall, Corner of Cavendish and Holland Roads, Holland Park Queensland.

The Winter Legends Board Game Festival is on again at the League of Extraordinary Gamers. Entry is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members pay $7.00 for the whole weekend and can play in as many tournaments as they like.

We will be running the free-form tournament event format again over the weekend. So, how does this work?

– You get together with people and play any games you want you want.

– The minimum number of players in a tournament rated game must be 4.

– Before playing you collect a score sheet from the canteen and complete it at the end of the game, detailing the names of players, the recommended duration of the game and the position of each player (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc).

You are scored using the following formula:

Recommended duration of the game expressed in hours x ranked position

Note, when giving points for rankings, in a five player game, the person who achieved 1st place would get 5 points, the second placed person 4, the third placed person 3 points and so on)

For example, if I played “Ra” with 4x other players and won the game I would receive a score of 5 (1 (hour) x 5 points for ranked position.

Each person who wins an individual game will receive a framed certificate. The person who scores the most points over the weekend wins the 2011 Winter Legends Board Game Trophy.

Note: a Magic: Grand Melee will deemed to be a 2 hour duration game, regardless of actual time played
