Hobby games are now entering their fifth straight year of growth. This is the word from icv2, which tracks industry sales in the US.

see the article here, with links to the top games across the different categories.

Board game sales have charged ahead, with Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Small World leading the way. One interesting point to me is that this time Fantasy Flight games had just one title in the top ten, Talisman variant Relic.

Warhammer 40,000 is still king of the non-collectible miniatures space, which is intersting since Games Workshops sales have slowed or even stalled as the rest of the hobby games industry speeds up. I think this shows how far ahead this game has been. War Machine is in second place, with X-Wing Miniatures in third, so there is some real competition now.

Card/dice games are led by Android: Netrunner, 7 Wonders, and Dominion.

Magic: the Gathering leads collectible card games, while Pathfinder is the best selling RPG title.
