IcV2 have their newest quarterly summary up, from their Internal Correspondence magazine. This mag follows hobby sales through the distributor channel in the US and gives a good indicator of how sales are trending.

The news is good, with sales up across the board. Board games were a particular winner, along with Magic: The Gathering. I think we can safely call the new Innistrad set for Magic a hit. With board games the traditional sellers such as Settlers of Catan still lead the pack. Newer games such as Small World are also strong sellers.

In the card game (non-collectable) category, Dominion is top of the heap, with newer games such as Ascension also featuring in the top sellers list.

Miniatures were the only dark spot, with Games Workshop’s new Finecast line reporting quality and supply issues that held back sales. Privateer Press is also scrambling to keep its back catalogue in supply. The very interesting Malifaux game from Wyrd Miniatures holds its place as the fifth best selling line.

A summary of the top sellers is:
Board Game: Settlers of Catan
Card/Building Game: Dominion
Miniatures: Warhammer 40,000
RPG: Pathfinder
Collectible Game: Magic the Gathering
